At the invitation of the organizers, the representative of the Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers (participating company Customs & Corporate Lawyers) in St. Petersburg took part in the meeting of "Expo-VIP" Club on the theme "Actual problems of exhibition and congress activities: 2010", which held in St. Petersburg on 21-22 January 2010
The main topic for discussion at the meetings of the "Expo-VIP" club was to discuss the results of 2009, trends in the development of exhibition and congress industry in 2010, to evaluate the role of the state, the Russian Chamber of Commerce, international and national associations and unions in the development of exhibition and congress activities, and the development of promising trends, innovations and new services exhibition and congress activities.
The meeting was attended by the heads of the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation and its regional offices, the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, the leading Russian and foreign exhibition organizations. The discussion was attended by representatives of five countries: Russia, India, Finland, the UK and Germany.
Participants of the meeting could not fail to note that the crisis of 2009 was "not only a time of testing for the economy in general and the exhibition industry in particular, but also very instructive and useful step for effective business promotion to the necessary changes to adapt to the new economic reality."
Representative of the Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers in St. Petersburg - Valeria Kotova, it was noted that in recent years in the development of exhibition activities have been significant changes: a growing number of regional, national and international exhibitions, which represent the interests of almost any industry or business. However, increasing the number of questions on customs clearance for import and export of exhibits at exhibition companies and Russian and foreign companies planning to take part in exhibitions and fairs. Valeria Kotova also expressed support for the Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers congress and exhibition activities and the Bar association of readiness to respond to specific questions on customs clearance for import and export of goods for participation in exhibitions as part of workshops, organized by the Bar association in 2010. In addition, for a competent and efficient problem solving and preventing problems in foreign trade activity, Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers expressed its readiness to provide its recommendations on foreign economic aspect of the exhibition activities on the basis of the current Russian, union (the legislation of the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan ) and international law, as well as law enforcement. The corresponding statement of the Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers of the announcement and said workshops were distributed to the participants.
During the meeting, it was also noted that at the present time for the representatives of the exhibition business increasingly pressing issue becomes the legal regulation of the international movement of goods, including intellectual property. The organizers of the meeting also attach great importance to the problems of protection of the rights of intellectual property, including the export of innovative products, especially in the light of the entry into force of the Customs Code of the Customs Union. Therefore, in the event, also held an open discussion dedicated to the results of the Round Table "Intellectual Property in the Customs Regulation", organized by the Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers and the Working Group on Intellectual Property Expert Council on customs regulation of the Committee on Budget and Taxes Russian State Duma in the first international Forum on intellectual Property «Expropriority '2009" (Moscow, December 2009).
