About activities of the Customs & Corporate Lawyers for 2010 - 2011 at informing the business community about the changes of the existing customs legislation

 

The list of main events (with comments):

1. 12 March 2010, in the press hall of the congress centre «Expocentre» was organized by Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers (company-participant of the Customs & Corporate Lawyers) extended meeting of the working group on intellectual property of Expert council on customs regulation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The meeting was devoted to the issues of formation of a civilized market of intellectual property in the territory of the Customs Union of three countries - Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Secretariat of the Customs Union Commission, the Federal customs service of Russia, Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation, the Federal Antimonopoly service of Russia, Federal state institution «FABRID», Federal service for technical and export control, Rospatent, Public corporations «ROSTECHNOLOGII» and «RUSNANO», representatives of Chambers of commerce and industry of Russia and Belarus.

Moderator of extended meeting, the head of the working group on intellectual property of Expert council on customs regulation, an attorney of Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers Oksana Kurochkin, voiced the main problems in the sphere of intellectual property connected with the free movement of goods on the customs territory.

Head of the Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers, an attorney  Konstantin Kurochkin drew attention to the necessity of harmonization of the Russian and the Union of intellectual property legislation with international legal norms.

2. 8-9 April 2010 in Moscow hosted the «Legal forum» by newspaper «Vedomosti». As speaker on «Customs legislation» was member of the Expert Council, the attorney Konstantin Kurochkin, head of the Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers. In his report he noted, that the part of the customs valuation legislation of the Russian Federation is well developed and contains almost no regulatory gaps, to take this institution out of the legal field, which confirms the statistics of arbitration practice.

3. From 29 to 30 September 2010, the members of the Expert Council, the lawyers of the bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers participated in the International Forum «the CUSTOMS UNION 2010: First results and perspectives», which was held in the Congress center of the hotel «Swissotel Krasnye Holmy».

Oksana Kurochkin has acted with the report on a theme: «Problems of creation of a civilized market of intellectual property in the territory of the Customs Union of Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan».

4. On December 14-15, 2010, in the «St. Sophia Grand Hall of the Premier Palace Hotel (Kiev, Ukraine) hosted the international conference «Customs Union - Ukraine: prospects, risks and opportunities».

The conference was devoted to changes in foreign economic relations of the countries of the Customs Union (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia) and Ukraine, due to the beginning of functioning of the Customs Union and the entry into force of the Customs code of the Customs Union.

The organizer of this international meeting was Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers. The conference was held with support and participation of Expert council on customs regulation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Secretariat of the Commission of the Customs Union of the EurAsEC.

The main topics of the Conference were issues of creating conditions ensuring the effectiveness of business for foreign and domestic producers and traders, integration into the world and regional infrastructure, the basic tools of protection of the rights and interests of business at the national and subnational levels, for customs regulation and competition in regional and global markets, urgent issues of law enforcement customs legislation of the EurAsEC interstate agreements and the decisions of the Commission of the Customs Union, which changed the rules of foreign trade in the three countries of the Customs Union, regional and international aspects of cooperation and its legal basis; risks, opportunities and prospects, as well as peculiarities of legal regulation of movement of goods through the customs border, in particular, electronic declaration and use of new technologies in management of foreign economic activity, and of course, foreign investments in Ukraine and possible full-fledged participation of Ukraine in the Customs Union EurAsEC (currently Ukraine has observer status).

The International conference was attended by: Executive Secretary of Commission of Customs Union S. Glazyev, Chairman of the State Committee on science, innovation and Informatization of Ukraine V. Seminozhenko, Deputy Minister of economy of Ukraine V. Muntiyan, Members of Expert council on customs regulation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation O. Kurochkina, K. Kurochkin , members of Academies of Sciences of Russia and Ukraine, the developers of the legislation of the EurAsEC Customs Union, representatives of the Embassy and trade mission of Russia in Ukraine, the CCI Ukraine, as well as many other prominent representatives of the expert community of Russia, Ukraine and CIS countries, economists, representatives of customs bodies of the states-participants of the Customs Union and Ukraine, judicial bodies of Ukraine, controlling bodies and bodies of certification and standardization, top and middle managers of Ukrainian and Russian concerns and enterprises, Russian and Ukrainian customs brokers, lawyers and representatives of financial institutions, public organizations and professional associations, shareholders and investors, business owners, the persons accepting the strategic the decisions leading experts and analysts in the field of foreign economic activity and legislation of the Customs Union of the EurAsEC, specialists and experts from the regional and international level. The two-day Conference was attended by about 200 people. The progress of the work of the International conference «the Customs Union - Ukraine: prospects, risks and opportunities» was covered 20 mass media of Russia, Ukraine and other countries.

5. February 11, 2011, member of the Expert council Konstantin Kurochkin took part in the VIII session of the Russian-Ukrainian Forum, which was devoted to the partnership of Ukraine and Russia in the new realities of European and Eurasian economic integration.

6. March 15, 2011 at the Russian state Institute of intellectual property Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Customs Union Commission, the Expert council on the customs regulation of the Committee on budget and taxes of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Federal customs service of Russia acted as one the organizers of international scientific-practical conference on a theme: «The protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the common customs territory of the Customs Union». One of the speakers at this event was a member of the Expert Council Oksana Kurochkin.

7. 14 April 2011 at Expocentre was held a Round table on a theme «Pressing questions of customs legislation in 2011». The organizers of the Round table was Bar association Customs & Corporate lawyers with the support of the information-analytical portal «Tamozhnia.ru», and also with the participation of the members of the Expert council on customs regulation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Secretariat of the Commission of the Customs Union.

The event was moderated by member of the Expert council Konstantin Kurochkin.

Among the topics to be discussed, particular attention was focused on the prospects of improvement of customs legislation; tariff regulation in general and in the field of certification, and also highlighted the issues of classification of goods and determination of their customs value.

8. 14 April 2011 at Expocentre was held the meeting of working group on intellectual property of Expert council on customs regulation of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The organizer and moderator of the meeting of the working group was member of the Expert council Oksana Kurochkin.

9. 21 April 2011 in Kiev in business centre of hotel «National» took place the conference «Customs-tariff and non-tariff regulation measures of sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary control in the Customs Union countries-members» - conference was organized by the Association of the Suppliers of the Customs Union (Kiev, Ukraine) with support of the Secretariat of the Commission of the Customs Union, the Russian-Ukrainian forum and Bar association Customs & Corporate lawyers. The conference was attended by member of the Expert council Konstantin Kurochkin.

10. 12 may 2011 in Madrid (Spain), in the framework of the exhibition «Scientific and technical achievements of Russia», round table devoted to the issues of intellectual property. At this event a member of the Expert council Oksana Kurochkin has acted with the report, covering the theme of protection of the Russian Federation of objects of intellectual property (analysis of the basic normative legal acts of the Customs Union of Russia - Belarus - Kazakhstan, regulating mutual relations in the field of intellectual property).

11. On may 19-20 in Moscow hosted the Second international customs forum «From a Customs Union to a Common economic space! ». The key topics of the event were the customs legislation of the Customs Union (CU), tariff and non-tariff regulation, customs valuation, as well as new technologies in the customs Declaration.

The session dedicated to the issues of customs value, moderated the member of the Expert council Konstantin Kurochkin.

12. 15 - 18 September 2011 member of the Expert council Oksana Kurochkina, took part and gave a presentation on «Customs Union: prospects and risks for business» at the VI Moscow International Forum on security issues «Intersecurityforum-2011».

13. 25 October 2011 Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers held within the 18th international specialized exhibition «Warehouse. Transport. Logistics 2011» conference «Customs Union Russia - Belarus - Kazakhstan: new opportunities for business».

The moderator of the event was a member of the Expert council, Head of the Bar association Customs& Corporate Lawyers Konstantin Kurochkin.

In the event as well as the speaker was the member of the Expert council Oksana Kurochkina.

14. 09 December 2011 Bar association Customs & Corporate Lawyers organized and held the «Round table» in the Expocentre, in the framework of the Third International forum on intellectual property Expopriority'2011. The topic of the event: «intellectual property Protection in the regional customs unions». The moderator of the project was member of the Expert council Oksana Kurochkina.

Also at this event she reported on a theme: «the Trademarks of the Soviet era - legal ways to solve the problem of common use».

15. 09 December 2011 at 14.00 in Expocentre held the international conference on combating counterfeiting and piracy.

In the framework of the conference were discussed the issues of combating counterfeiting and piracy in Russia and in the world.

The moderator of the event was a member of the Expert Council Konstantin Kurochkin.

Member of the Expert Council Oksana Kurochkina has reported about counterfeit and piracy in Russia and in the world.
